My heart breaks for Darins family. What a wonderful man.. I worked with Darin at OSL and was his team lead before he decided to move on and find something different. He gave the best hugs and will definitely be missed. My daughter went to rehab back a few years ago and Darin was so kind to send her a gift card to get some essentials while she was there. She had worked with him at OSL also and they became friends. Much love to the Macke family during this hard time..

Kathy How I wish I could just hold you and tell you this in person. I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful Husband. Watching you grow up and seeing you do so well has been a treasure to me. You are very special to me. It was an honor to be in your wedding. And you guys were there for Ed and I. Memories are the hearts way of holding us all together to be there for one another. And the special memories being shared by these wonderful friends proves just that. Love you Becky

Dear Macke Family,
I met Darin back in 1996 when I was a new sales rep for Forethought Life, Darin was an individual that always made time for me when needed and bailed me out of jams on numerous occassions, although our working relationship ceased when we went our seperate professional ways he will always be a part of great memories. Forethought was always known as a big family and today we lost a beautiful family member.

I can't begin to explain the sadness felt by myself and so many who worked with Darin back in the Forethought days. Darin was one of those people who was consistently kind, friendly, and someone we all loved working with. I can't image anyone having anything negative to say about him. I remember how devastated he was when Dale Earnhardt had his accident and passed. I hope that Darin gets to meet Dale! My heart hurts for his beautiful family and I pray for their days ahead. God Bless.

Darin was one of my first Forethought friends. He was kind, caring, & always made me laugh. He called me "Kentucky" (my home state); I called him "Stockroom" (he always answered the phone "Stockroom Darin".) My favorite memory of Darin is when he helped coach the Forethought girls softball team. We didn't win a game but we had fun. We told him he coached the perfect season.
Love and prayers, Laura Strange
