Dennis C. Thompson

Dennis C. Thompson, 90, of Greensburg passed away on February 12, 2024. He was born on May 4, 1933 in Greensburg, the son of Paul S. and Florence (Rolin) Thompson. Dennis was a 1951 graduate of Burney High School. He married Reba Yarling on January 15, 1954 and together they had four children: Kathryn, Steven, Susan and Richard. Dennis was raised on a farm in Letts and continued farming even while he worked at Cummins for 35 years. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and the Greensburg Power of the Past. Dennis loved to restore and collect vintage tractors, his favorite was a Ford 6000 much like the one his father had. He was an avid NASCAR and local short track race fan. Dennis was a family man but being a Grandpa and Great Grandpa brought him the most joy.

Survivors include: Wife, Reba Thompson; Children, Kathryn (Kenneth) AmRhein, Steven (Janet) Thompson, Susan (Daniel) Jackson and Richard (Cherrel) Thompson; Grandchildren, Jennifer (Matthew) Shuter, Brian (Natalie) AmRhein, Laura (Brad) Stoll, Emily (Ben) Johannsen, Scott (Erin) Jackson, Gregory (Ashley) Jackson, Rachel (Alex Turner) Jackson, Christopher (Jennifer) Thompson and Matthew Thompson; Great Grandchildren, Corey Shuter, Chloe Shuter, Myles AmRhein, Mallory AmRhein, Ian Stoll, Jack Stoll, Vivenne Stoll, Luke Johannsen, Olivia Johannsen, Eleanor Jackson, Olive Jackson, Callum Jackson and Archer Jackson. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Brothers, Wallace (Juanita) Thompson and Willice (Nita) Thompson; Sister, Mary (Donald) Stillabower; Nephew, Daryl Thompson and Niece, Julie Stillabower.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral at 1:00 pm. Rev. Bob Leitgabel will be officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery.
