Obituary of Emily Callahan Brancamp
Emily Brancamp, 84, of Greensburg, passed away on July 20, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born on January 4, 1928, in Hazard, Kentucky, the daughter of Corbin Callahan and Nancy Cornett. Emily was a 1966 graduate of Clarksburg High School. She married Clarence Brancamp on Christmas Day in 1949 in a small service, at their minister’s house, in Greensburg. Emily worked at the Dress Factory for 6 years; she then went on to work at Delta Faucet and retired after 13 years to care for her husband. She was a member of: Greensburg Senior Citizens, Gideon Auxiliary Wives, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and The Trinity Baptist Church where she was the Church Hostess, Vacation Bible School Director, and a Sunday School Teacher. She was a wonderful, loving mother and friend to everyone she knew. Survivors include: Husband- Clarence Brancamp, Children- Linda (Kirby) Smith, Dale (Barbara) Brancamp, Marcia (Jack) Gibson, Clarence Michael (Betina) Brancamp, Grandchildren- Eric (Tanya) Smith, Melissa Gibson, Erin (Brent) Sutherland, Jeremy (Georgia) Gibson, Robert Dale (Megan) Brancamp, Shawn Brancamp, Great Grandchildren, Carter and Blake Smith, Riley and RJ Gibson, Zackary and Isabella Orr, Breanna and Gabe Sutherland, and Several Siblings. Emily was preceded in death by her: Granddaughter- Angela Brancamp, Father- Corbin Callahan, Mother- Nancy Cornett, Step Mother- Rainey Callahan, and Brother- Leonard Callahan. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Trinity Baptist Church, on the corner of N. Broadway and Barachel Lane, Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will also be at the Church, Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Roy Redd will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Union Flat Rock Cemetery in Osgood, Indiana. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Trinity Baptist Church.
