Gertrude "Trudy" Foreman Davis

Gertrude “Trudy” Foreman Davis, 95, North Vernon, formerly of Greensburg, passed away on January 4, 2019. She was born on July 29, 1923 in Decatur County, Indiana the daughter of Edward and Edna Sherwood Foreman. Trudy was a graduate of Burney High School. She married Glenn W. Davis on March 2, 1941 in Shelbyville, Indiana and together they had five children. Glenn preceded her in death on June 4, 1999. Trudy was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Church of God where she previously served as the Secretary and Treasurer and was also active in the Women’s Group. Survivors include: Son- Douglas (Julie) Davis; Daughters- Brenda R. (Lester) Lee and Glenda Saunders; Sister- Ruby Hamer; and Grandchildren- Tony (Jenny) Davis, Kelly & Dan Zweifel (Davis), Jason Davis, Scott L. (Candi) Daugherty, Meegan L. (Michael) Collier, Kimberly Miller, Eric Davis, & Chad G. Davis and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents and Husband; Son- Larry Lynn Davis; Infant Son- Robert D. Davis; Sisters- Marianna Mozingo, Marjorie Huesman, Ruth Lucas; and Brother- Gilbert “Shorty” Foreman. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 1:00 until the time of the funeral at 3:00 pm. Rev. Terry Canfield will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Union Baptist Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Church of God.
