Jack R. Moore, 86, of Greensburg, passed away on June 29, 2016. He was born in Decatur County, June 15, 1930 and was the son of Charlie and Hazel Moore. He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1948. He entered the US Navy on May 28, 1948 and served aboard the USS Rendova (CVE114) During the Korean War. He married Merlene Newman in June 1950. Merlene died of breast cancer in 1993 in Decatur County.
He is survived by one son, Dr. Stan Moore and one sister, Jo Anne Werdine. He is also preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Wayne Moore and Eugene Moore and sisters, Dorothy Moore, Maxine Trout and Marcia Steck. Jack was a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Adams, Indiana.
Funeral Services were held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Burial was at the South Park Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the US Navy. Memorial contributions can be made to Our Hospice of Decatur County. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.gilliland-howe.com
