I'm not sure if this compounds over years, but as it is ⏤ I think all the time about the absence he left when he finally passed; he said that I shouldn't have anything to worry about [once he was gone], for whatever reason ⏤ and I have confusion over his presence now, in other words; whatever a memory is ⏤ if it's true like he said 3,000 years will come round, than I'm curious to see how things turn out ⏤ 

I really cared for Mr. Copeland. And am sorry to see him go. It just seems too soon.

Once i saw Jim tasting the white powder that grows on his truck battery terminals. Later i gave him a hard drive cuz the plates are coated with platinum group metals; but i asked him to promise not to eat it.  

Unique among humans; he loved gold not for its monetary value but it seemed like pure spirit to him.  I gave him a gold ring that i found once cuz i knew he would see it as essence of Light Itself.

We met, we danced....laughed and loved.......he was my soulmate......i'm sure he is in the stars...still...dancing......

A natural philosopher with his own, unique, insights and perceptions on the human condition and the cosmos. Anyone who took the time to comprehend his often "poetically puzzling permutations" came away grateful to know him.

Jim, your deep philosophical and spiritual interpretations of mundane speech and the metaphorical meanings that can be derived from scientific "facts" twisted my mind open like no one else I've ever encountered. Thank you my friend, I will miss you.

I remember the walks we took around your parents' farm when I was a kid.  You were 10 years older, and you had much to share about the importance of growing crops and raising animals.  I was pretty impressed with your knowledge.  And I have always been impressed with your intelligence.  I'm sorry I didn't get to see you in later years.  I've thought about you so often.  Dear cousin, rest in peace.  Much love to you and cousin, Christine.

One of a kind.  He gave me advice on everything from auto mechanics to nutrition to cutting down trees.  A little boy was in the Ruciple Spoon one day and pointed at Jim, looked at his mother and said "Santa".  Well, he might have been Santa. He gave me many gifts.  He showed me how to cut down trees without killing myself. We cut a limb off of a tree and I thought that it would fall the other way, but Jim knew exactly which way it would fall, the opposite the way I thought it would. I hope he finds the white powder of gold. I'll miss him.  Best wishes and condolences to his family.

Jim was a great human being, one I would consider a friend.  I had not seen him recently, so I already missed him...

A very nice guy. I used to cook for him when I worked at the Runcible Spoon. We often had very unorthodox conversations. I will miss seeing him around.

I can not imagine a world without Jim's unique perspective, advice and stories.  He will be missed greatly.

A really remarkable man with many fine things to say.

I love this man so much.  Throughout the years the information and stories he shared with me have remained dear to me.  When it came to healthy living I can't even count the number of things he informed me of.  The lesson of the positive effects of butter and it's ability to keep the mind functioning smoothly ... "That's s m MOO thly" he said.  And then we would smother our toast in it, and I never thought guiltily of butter again.  Nothing will ever beat the years long lessons of the white powder of gold and the platinum group.  James Clio Copeland, rest in peace and may your stories and lessons live on. Jim Copeland   amazing, wonderful, creative, humorous, beautiful human being. taught me so much and we learned so many things together. Jim was cut from an unusual and unique cloth. He saw the world through complex eyes. One never left his presence without being effected by him. When working at the Spoon he would often jar me into statements that would make us both laugh. This would give a little joy to my heart for days afterward. Though a bit calloused, Jim's heart had the patina of an old mirror through which many saw themselves reflected.  I believe he is now navigating the Heavens and asking God if he is a Leo.

Oh... Godspeed my friend to adventures beyond my understanding at this time. Which is where many of our conversations went. Condolences to your family. Rest in peace in a loving blanket of white gold from the hearts of so many you touched and whose minds you inspired to think and wonder....
