John Jerman Meek

John Jerman Meek, 83, of Greensburg passed away on February 15, 2018. He was born on March 1, 1934 in Greensburg the son of Robert L. and Carol (Jerman) Meek. John graduated from Greensburg High School in 1952. He received his associate degree in Engineering Technology from Purdue University. On November 15, 1954 he married Frieda Nieman and together they had one son John Kevin. John started his career in Indianapolis at Meek and Hannan Engineering and later worked as the business manager for Ashley Machine for many years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greensburg Country Club, and Knights of Columbus. A few of his many hobbies included model airplanes, golf, tennis, cards, ping pong, and boating.

Survivors include wife Frieda, son Kevin (Julie); Grandchildren Casey (Justin) Green, Carley (Paul) Riehle, and Scott Meek; Great-grandchildren Graeme, Hudson, and Sawyer Green and Quinn and Landon Riehle. John was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robin Meek, sister in law Katie Meek, and Great-grandson John Thomas Meek. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home Friday, February 23rd from 10:00am until time of rosary at 12:00pm. A private burial will take place at South Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund or to the donor's choice.
