Jon "Hootie" Hooten

Jon (Hootie) Hooten, 51, of Greensburg, passed away on July 1, 2014 at his residence. He was born on September 18, 1962 in Greensburg, the son of Nancy Wilhoit and Merlyn Hooten. Jon was a 1980 graduate of Greensburg High School. He was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge. Jon worked at Frisches as the Kitchen Manager for 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, hanging out with his friends, and watching the Colts play.

Survivors include: Father- Merlyn (Gloria) Hooten of Columbiana AL, Daughters- Jamie (Jerry) Balser of Elizabethtown, Kayla Hooten of Sandusky, Jessica Hooten of Greensburg, Companion- Evan Kirchner of Greensburg, Siblings - Diana (Mark) Scudder of Greensburg, Rick (Rose) Hooten of Osgood, Bob Hooten of Greensburg, Terry Reach of Alabama, and Robin Meyers, Grandchildren- Taylor, Olivia, Abigail, and Allison Balser, Joe Catron and Kendall Moore. He was preceded in death by his Mother- Nancy Wilhoit and Granddaughter- Allexus Hooten.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at the United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 11:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 3:00 pm. Rev.
