I began practicing law in Greensburg in1973. I remember my first criminal case when Karl was Prosecuting Attorney. I learned by Karl's example. The most important need, ability and attitude for a prosecutor is to be fair. I learned that ability and its importance from Karl.

Karl was an excellent attorney in all areas of the general practice of law. He always did his research and never tried to "bluff" his way through his cases. He worked very hard in his practice, but it always appeared that his work and representation of clients were effortless.

Karl worked hard and played hard. Bar meetings and social events were dull without him. During the past few years, we have missed Karl's presence socially and in the practice of law, his humor, his enthusiasm and his friendly greeting every time he saw one of us.

KARL: You were the lawyer-model and law practice standard that Bill Robbins and I tried to follow. That was a tremendous gift to both of us. The courthouse records are forever inscribed with evidence of your excellent work.

Prosecuting Attorney, 69th Judicial Circuit, Indiana
