Kenneth E. Ramer

Kenneth E. Ramer, 77 of Greensburg, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013, at the Yellow Rose Hospice Center in Indianapolis. Ken was born on August 2, 1936 in Decatur County; he was the son of Millard and Jewel Ramer. Ken graduated from the Greensburg High School in 1954. After high school, Ken joined the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict.
On December 3, 1966, he married Jerelyn Kay Thorpe at the Greensburg United Methodist Church. Ken worked for the Greensburg Fire Department for 38 years as a fireman, retiring in 1998. Ken was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church, he was a Golden Eagles Lodge member and also a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife Jerelyn, three daughters – Kim Price, Kelly (Tony) Rader, and Lori (Ron) Wojcik; Four sons- Steven (Judi) Ramer, Bryan (Jackie) Ramer, Shaun Ramer, and Kedrick Ramer; One sister Loretta Colson; One brother Mevin Ramer; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law John Colson.
There will be a visitation for family and friends held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 4PM-8PM at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Ken’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 11 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association, to help fight Lou Gehrig’s disease or the donor’s choice.
