
Lydia Elizabeth Wynkoop-Ralston 88 of Greensburg, IN. passed away Friday May 25, 2012 at the Arbor Grove Village of Greensburg. She was born April 5, 1924 in Decatur County, IN., the daughter of Charles and Hatti Elizabeth (Doles) Wynkoop. She married Arthur Ralston (Bud) on November 3, 1940 in Decatur County, IN. They were married 60 years. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Lydia loved to cook and bake, work in the garden and can the things she grew. Her favorite flowers were red roses. She served as a 4H leader, and was a member of the Sandusky Methodist Church. She was a devoted caretaker for her husband Bud who suffered from Parkinson’s disease.
She is survived by two daughters: Mary Irene McDonald (Emil Wolfmueller) of Muscatine, Iowa, and Lydia June (Jack) Snyder of Greensburg, IN. She is also survived by four Granddaughters: June Anne (Vince) Gaeta, Holly Hunt (special friend Frank Weber), Sara (Bob) Benson, and Hope (Jim) Moore. Five Great-Granddaughters: Cierra and Casey Simmons, Ashton Benson (Chris Weber), Lydia and Irene Moore; Three Sisters-in-Law: Donna Smily, Pat Ralston, and Judy Ralston; two Brothers-in-Law: Charles and Mike Ralston. Numerous Nieces and Nephews also survive on the Ralston Side. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur Ralston (Bud), Son-in-Law tom McDonald, and a Great-Grandson Wade Benson.
Friends may call at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Tuesday May 29, 2012 from 4:00 until 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 30, 2012 at 10:30am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the South Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sandusky Methodist Church or to Hospice of Decatur County.
