

Marguerite Louise Fields, 82 of Oldenburg passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013 at the St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville. Marguerite was born on August 26, 1931 in Greensburg, the daughter of Herman and Marguerite Koors. She was a 1949 graduate of Greensburg High School and then furthered her education attending Marion, University of Cincinnati, and IUPUI. On April 24, 1954 she married Paul Fields in Greensburg and he passed away in 1991.
Marguerite taught 1st and 2nd grades at the St. Mary’s Catholic School for 30 years. She was member of the Holy Family Parish in Oldenburg, a Lay Associate for the Sisters of St. Francis, a Eucharistic Minister and also taught CCD and RCIA. Marguerite enjoyed traveling, needlework, an avid sports fan and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters- Paula Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jane (Doug) Weigel of Oldenburg, Indiana, and Connie (Gary) Johnston of Windsor, Colorado, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters Marianne Schroeder and Francis (Liz) John, and three brothers George, Bill, and James Koors.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 24 from 2PM until the start of the Funeral Mass 4PM all at the Sisters of St. Francis Chapel in Oldenburg. Interment will be on Friday, October 25 at 10am at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Associates of St. Francis or the Sisters of Francis.
