

She was born on August 18, 1941, in Greensburg, the daughter of Charles and Margaret Cruser Smith. Marilyn was a 1959 graduate of Greensburg High School.
On January 10, 1979, she married Norman Fromer. Marilyn worked for many years as a secretary, with positions at RBSK Partners PC, Witkemper Insurance, KB Specialty Foods, and Gulf Plastics.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensburg.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Gary) Richmond; her son, James Brown; her stepdaughter, Amy (David) Fuller; her stepsons, Eric Fromer and David Fromer; her grandchildren, Derek (Jessica) Hunter, Tyler (Chelsie) Hunter, and Courtney (Eric) Meyer; and her great-grandchildren, Oliver, Henry, Hadley, Hayden and Kreed Hunter, and Laynie, Lillian, and Salem Meyer, who brought her great joy. She is also survived by her brother, Michael (Jane) Smith, and her niece, Lauren (Rueben) McCracken.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman Fromer; and her grandson, Caleb R. Brown.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 4:00 pm at the Gilliland- Howe Funeral Home. Pastor Greg Redd will be officiating. A time for family and friends to visit will follow from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A private burial will be at the South Park Cemetery at a later date.
