
Marion Webster Marsh, 91 of Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at the Hospice Inpatient Facility in Columbus. Marion was born on April 12, 1925, in Versailles, the son of George Edwin and Lillie (Gray) Marsh.
After graduating from New Point High School in 1943, Marion joined the Marines, serving during WWII. After his time in the service, he came back and married Helen Hopkins in Cherry Point, NC on February 11, 1950. He worked as Janitor at the Greensburg High School and a Meter Reader for Indiana Gas for many years and as a farmer for 21 years. Marion recently became a member of the Sandcreek Baptist Church and loved cutting wood.
He is survived by several nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four sisters – Geneva Piles, Mable Jackman, Claira Pavey, and Eileen Ewing, and three brothers – Vernon, Lee and Dallas Marsh.
There will be a Private Graveside Funeral Service held at the Tanglewood Cemetery in Versailles. Memorial contributions may be made to the Decatur County Animal Shelter. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.gilliland-howe.com.
