

Mark C. Craft, 77, of Greensburg passed away on January 10, 2015 at Morning Breeze. He was born on July 28, 1937, in Gauge, Kentucky, the son of Rev. Grover and Laura Craft. He completed his undergraduate degree at Morehead State University and his Masters degree in Education at Butler University. He also completed post-graduate work at Bowling Green State University and DePauw University. Mark married Helen (Allen) Craft on January 26, 1961 in Greenup, Kentucky.
Mark began his teaching and coaching career in Frenchburg, Kentucky. He then spent four years teaching and coaching in Napoleon, Ohio. He moved to Greensburg in 1968 and taught at North Decatur High School until he retired in 2003; he taught Social Studies, History, and Economics. During the summers, he worked at Stewart Seeds. He was a very active member of the First Baptist Church where he taught the Baraca Class, served as a Deacon, was a Guest Speaker to the Congregation, and also went on two missionary trips to Haiti. Mark was a Past President of the Decatur County Brotherhood. He also served as an interim Pastor for several churches in Southern Indiana for over 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and a passionate sports fan and greatly enjoyed cheering for the University of Kentucky Basketball team. Mark was a beloved husband, a caring father, and proud grandfather who deeply loved his grandchildren.
He is survived by: Wife- Helen Craft of Greensburg, Daughters- Cheryl (Tom) Hedge of Harrison, Ohio, Lynette Craft of Chicago, Brenda (Bill) Korte of Columbus, Sister- Betty Craft of Stanton, Kentucky, Brothers- Charles (Annette) Craft of Shelbyville and Joe (Lida) Craft of Union, Kentucky, 6 Grandchildren, and 2 Great Grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Rev Grover and Laura Craft.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland Howe Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Rev.
