Melita Jane Hancock

Melita Jane Hancock, 69 of Greensburg passed away on January 5, 2017. She was born on March 18, 1947 in Greensburg, the daughter of W. Harold and Thelma Jane (Edward) Hancock. Melita was a 1965 graduate of Greensburg High School and a 1971 graduate of Purdue University. Melita was an actress and singer and performed in various T.V. shows and movies. She performed at Supper Clubs including the Terris Hilton and the Beverly Hills. Melita was also a teacher at Headstart in Cincinnati, OH. Her memberships included: the United Methodist Church of Greensburg, Psi Iota Xi, Screen Actors Guild, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and Television and Screen Acting.

Survivors include: Siblings- Michelin Rieman and Mark Hancock; Nieces and Nephews- Michael Hancock, Matthew (Somer) Hancock, Randi Rieman-Johns, Rae (Ben) Braughton, Keith Hancock, William Hancock, and Katherine Stuelke; Great Nieces and Nephews- Emma Hancock, Mia Hancock, Carson Johns, Eric Braughton, Sophie Rieman, and Benjamin Braughton. She was preceded in death by: her Parents; and Brother- Gary Michael Hancock.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Rev. David Bourne will be officiating.
