

Nancy Lynn Clifton-Cripe, 67, of Indianapolis, passed July 19, 2013 in Indianapolis. She was born January 20, 1946 to Max Clifton and Carol Howe Clifton, in Greensburg, Indiana. Nancy graduated with a BA from Ball State University; she was Sigma Kappa 1968. She then received her MA at State University of New York at Albany. Nancy was a residence Hall Director at California State University, Fullerton, CA, Ball State University, and Cornell University, NY
She worked as: an Administrative Assistant to the Vice-President Lacy Diversified Industries, Indianapolis, a Special Events Coordinator at Hudson Institute, Indianapolis, a Campaign Development Officer at Kiwanis International, Executive Assistant to Community relations officer at Kroger Corp, Indianapolis. Also in her career she was in executive positions in the hospitality industry in Mackinac Island, Clearwater, FL, and Indianapolis.
While at Ball State she authored an Access Handbook for students with disabilities.
Active on several boards in Indianapolis: Stanley K. Lacy Leadership Foundation, Girls Inc. of Indianapolis, and Tamika Catchings, Catch A Star Foundation.
She leaves behind: Husband Thomas E. Cripe, Mother-Carol Clifton and Sister- Cindy Clifton and many cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held at Gilliland Howe Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral at 1:00 p.m. Margaret Ann Lowe will be officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate to Girls Inc, Tamika Catchings’ “Catch a Star” or gently read books to” Indy Reads”.
