Naomi Thurston Williams

Naomi Williams 102 of Greensburg, Indiana passed away Monday August 8, 2011. She was born August 8, 1909 on the family farm in Waynesburg Decatur County, Indiana. She was the daughter of Edward and Laura (Hill) Thurston. She was a 1927 High School Graduate of Jackson Township, and attended Purdue University. She was a Homemaker and also worked at G. C. Murphy’s and Minear’s, she was also a member of the First Christian Church Greensburg. She married Fred S. Williams June 24, 1933 in Louisville, Kentucky and he preceded her in death March 14, 1986.

Naomi is survived by two sons: Gene A. and Roger T. Williams both of Greensburg; two daughters: Carol louise (Howard) Bonnett of Greensburg, IN. and Kathleen Joyce (Raymond) Webster of Mishawaka, IN.; Grandchildren Catherine Haynes DiBerardina of Orlando, FL., Paula (Clifford) Schuman of Greensburg, IN., Julie Bonnett of Indianapolis, IN., Kenneth Bonnett of Greensburg, IN, Roger A. Williams of St. Paul, IN., Judith Webster of Mishawaka, IN., Raymond E. Webster of Granger, IN., and Roddy (Lorraine) Eastwood of Rushville, IN. Eleven Great Grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her Parents, her Husband, three Brothers: Clarence, I. Lynn, and Notre Hill Thurston; two sisters: Verne (Wesley) Fulton and Fairy Williams Updike.

Friends may call at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Wednesday August 10, 2011 from 5:00pm until the time of service at 7:00pm. Burial will take place on Thursday august 11, 2011 at the Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus, IN. at 10:00am. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, Hospice of South Central Indiana or to the Greensburg Library Audio Books.
