Robert Eugene Rigdon

Robert Eugene Rigdon, 76, of Mooresville, passed away on December 22, 2011 at his residence. He was born on December 4, 1935 in Salem, Indiana the son of Waldo and Ruby (Winslow) Rigdon. Robert married Mary Alice Branaman on May 28, 1955 in Salem, IN. He was a 1954 graduate of Flat Rock High School, 1960 and 1961 graduate of Purdue University. From 1961-1969, Robert was a Math-Science teacher at Morristown High School. From 1969-1971, he worked for the State Department of Education in the area of Vocational Education, which included conducting a Feasibility Study in Columbus. From 1972 to retirement in 1999, Robert was a vocational education teacher/Director at Greensburg Community High School; he started courses there for High School Credit, College Credit, and GED. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Greensburg.

Survivors include: Wife- Mary Alice Rigdon, Daughter- Lisa (husband-Randy) Randall, Granddaughter- Laura Randall, Grandson- Jonathan Randall, and Brothers- Marvin (wife- Karen) Rigdon and Marece (wife- Brenda) Rigdon. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers- Leland Rigdon and Mervin Rigdon.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland- Howe Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Rev. Danny Wolford will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem, IN. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Christian Church.
