Sidney Allen Johnson

Sidney Allen Johnson, 84, of Greensburg passed away on August 22, 2016. He was born in Lockport, Illinois, on January 1, 1932 the son of Sidney and Aili (Winters) Johnson. Sidney was a 1949 graduate of Cherry High School in Iron, Minnesota. He went on to become a Staking Engineer and worked for Northern Electric Co-op in Virginia, Minnesota and then Decatur County REMC; retiring in 1994, after 41 years of service. On December 12, 1953 he married Elsie Nissila and they had three children.

Survivors include: Wife- Elsie Johnson of Greensburg; Son- Kenneth Johnson of Greensburg; Daughters- Sharon (Donald) Donovan of Rockville, and Karen (Bret) Morgason of Shelbyville; Sister- Katherine Cariveau of Livermore, California; Brother- Kenneth O. (Terry) Johnson of Surprise, Arizona; Grandchildren-Peter Donovan of Bridgeton, Ann Donovan (Jesse) Ault of Plainsboro, New Jersey, Natalie Donovan of Lafayette, Katie Morgason (David) Killock of Northampton, England, Amanda Morgason of Shelbyville, Kevin, Ryan, and Andrew Johnson all of Greensburg. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be Private.
