

Suzanne Williamson Rumsey, 83, passed away on January 2, 2026. She was born on June 29, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Paul and Kathryn Smith. She was a proud 1963 graduate of Greensburg Community High School and the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. Dedicated to lifelong learning and her profession, she later earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Indianapolis School of Nursing in 1981.
Suzanne devoted her life to caring for others and took great pride in her work as a nurse. Her career included serving as Director of Oncology at Decatur County Memorial Hospital, a role through which she touched countless lives with skill, compassion, and leadership.
A faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Greensburg, Indiana, Suzanne was also a member of the Meridian Group and the Eastern Star. She cherished the friendships she formed through her church and enjoyed attending services with her close friends. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, she generously gave her time each year by helping serve Thanksgiving meals to those in need, reflecting her deep commitment to service and community. Suzanne will be remembered for her dedication to nursing, her faith, and her generosity.
Suzanne is survived by her sons, Matt Williamson, and Jason Williamson; step-son, Jeff (Lucy) Rumsey; brother, Jim (Barbara) Smith; sister, Kathy Lynn (Jim) Wells; grandchildren, Autumn Williamson, Austin Williamson, Abigail Williamson, Amy Kuhn, Jonathan Rumsey; daughter-in-law, April Williamson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Mike Rumsey.
