

Thelma Jane (Edward) Hancock, 98, of Greensburg passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015. She was born on December 28, 1916, in Harrisburg, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas and Bertha (Armisted) Edward. Thelma was a 1932 graduate of Harrisburg High School. She worked for Union Bank and Trust, Minears, and Walmart and finally retired in 2012 at the age of 96. Thelma was a member Psi Iota Xi Sorority, Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Greensburg United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher. Thelma was very devoted to her sisters, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include: Children- Michelin (Husband- Ron) Rieman, Melita Hancock, and Mark Hancock; Grandchildren- Michael Lynn Hancock, Matthew (Somer) Hancock, Randi (Roger) Rieman, Rae Ann (Ben) Braughton, William Hancock, Katherine Elizabeth Hancock, and Keith Hancock; Great Grandchildren- Emma Grace Hancock, Mia Hancock, Carson Caroline Jane Johns, Eric Michael Braughton, Sophie Ellen Rieman, and Benjamin Patrick Braughton,; Sisters- Frankie “Bob” (Husband- Bill) Morgan and Barbara (Husband- Frank) Baker. She was preceded in death by: her Parents; Husband- W. Harold Hancock; Son- Mike (Martha) Hancock; Sisters-Alice Allen, Susie Staley, and Betty Mead.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Rev. David Bourne will be officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery, Harrisburg, Illinois.
