Born on March 18, 1963, in Oakland, California. She was the daughter of Aaron Parrett Jr. and Pattie L. Goddard and was later raised alongside her stepfather, George W. Goddard.
Tonya was, above all else, a mother and grandmother, roles she wore with fierce love and unshakable loyalty. Her children and grandchildren were her center, her pride, and constant concern. She showed her love in everyday ways: showing up, checking in, standing firm, and making sure her people were okay. Always.
She had a lifelong love of collecting rocks and she was an extraordinary crafter. Tonya’s sense of humor was legendary. She was quick-witted, and wonderfully opinionated. She could be sweet and salty in the same breath, offering kindness, laughter, and truth without pretense. Being around her meant real conversations, real laughter, and always, the best hugs.
She is survived by her son, Scott Koger, and his children, Aryn Koger and Wyatt Koger; and by her daughter, Missy Knecht, and her children, Ethan Knecht, Eli Knecht, and Emmett Knecht. Her grandchildren brought her immense joy, and she loved watching them grow into themselves more than anything.
Tonya was preceded in death by her brother, Tim Parrett; her mother, Pattie Goddard; her stepfather, George Goddard; and her father, Aaron Parrett Jr.
Tonya will be remembered for her creativity, humor, and the deep love she gave so freely to her family and friends. She will be missed more than words can say, but her spirit lives on in the people she loved most.
