Obituary of William Bill Daniel Boone
William Daniel Boone, 86 of Greensburg passed away on May 5, 2012 at Indiana University Health Center. He was born on January 6, 1926 in Greensburg, Indiana the son of Daniel Everett and Zella (Fee) Boone. Bill was a 1944 Graduate of Greensburg Community High School. He served his country during WWII in Marine Corps 4th Division, in the Pacific Theatre. He married Kathleen Grubbs on July 31, 1948 at the United Methodist Church. Bill was the owner of Boone Heating and Air Conditioning for over 40 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge (50 years), Order of Eastern Star (50 Years), American Legion Lodge #129 (60 years) where he was on the House Committee and served on the Honor Guard, he was also a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, bird hunting, fishing, and his pets. Survivors include: Wife- Kathleen Boone, Children- David (Jacqueline) Boone, Nancy (Don) Schutte, Fred Boone, and Mary Jane Boone, Grandchildren- Julie Merrill, Brenda Boone, Ginger Cawthon, Ryan Schutte, Rebecca Kennelly, Fred Boone, Jr., Scott Boone, Travis Amburgey, Kellen Healey, and Katy Healey, and 20 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Sisters- Catherine Schwendenmann, Bernice Mozingo, Bonnie Clark, and Marie Scheidler. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Funeral Home. Rev. Jimmie Moore will be officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the American Legion Post #129.
