
Art was born October 14, 1940, at home in Greenville, to the late Arthur & Bessie Vanata Sr. Art was also preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Sharon Vanata; step-daughter, Tiffaney Fischer; great-granddaughter, Layla Lockhart; and brother-in-law, Dan Hunt.
Art is survived by daughter, Cheryl (Ryan) Riffell, Arcanum, OH; son, Doug (fiancée, Amber) Vanata, Madison, AL; step-daughter, Anjanette “Angie” Clark, Vandalia, OH; son-in-law, Scott Fischer, Itasca, IL; sisters, Martha (Dan) Morrow, Greenville, OH, and Hattie Hunt, Greenville, OH; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy (Ti-Anna) Lockhart, Arcanum, OH, Kylie (fiancé, Jon) Fischer, Wauconda, IL, Kaitlynn (Austen) Frech, Arcanum, OH, Taylor Fischer, Westmont, IL, Brandon Riffell, Vandalia, OH, and Braxton Vance, Madison, AL; and 3 great-grandsons with a great-granddaughter on the way.
Art was employed with Enicks Dental Lab, J.V. Products, and then retired from Excello/Cadillac Gage/Textron where he was a tool maker and the Union President the last 12 years.
A private graveside service will be held in Abbottsville Cemetery with Pastor Don Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to EverHeart Hospice in Art’s memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville.
