Barbara Marker

Barbara Jean Marker, 84 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday June 11, 2026, at 9:27 PM at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. Jean was born October 24, 1941, in Greenville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Leon and Carrie (McEldowney) Cole.

Jean was a homemaker; she enjoyed ballet dancing, reading books, cooking, gardening, doing puzzles and mostly spending time with her family and friends. Jean was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John H. “Jack” Marker on March 11, 2007, whom she married April 15, 1961; and her sister, Shirley Robertson.

Jean is survived by her children and spouses, Daniel and Michelle Marker of Greenville, Carrie and John Simons of Greenville, and Patty and Richard Hudson of Greenville; her grandchildren, Hillary and Sam Coolbaugh, Rachel and Caleb MacKay, Ryan and Kayleen Simons, and Alexis and Brennan Gettinger; her great grandchildren, Paul and Ruth MacKay, and Greyson “Jack” Gettinger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Jeans life will be held on Wednesday June 17, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Day City Hospice.
