Cletus J Barton

Cletus was born on February 23, 1932, in Darke County to the late Cletus & Velma (Grilliot) Barton. He was also preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Debra Bergman, and step great granddaughter, Katie Dross.

Cletus is survived by his wife of 49 years, Wanda (Mong) Barton whom he married August 20, 1977; children, Robert & Melinda Barton of Versailles, Cheryl & Rick Gunckle of Greenville, Deb & Jeff Didier of Covington, and Nancy & Kevin Lear of Troy; step children, Tammy Bergman of Versailles and Michael & Tina Bergman of Versailles; grandchildren, Louis & Taylor Von Duhn, Matt & Emily Barton, Megan & Brad Murphy, Amy & Kevin Smith, Robert & Jennifer Gunckle, Michael & Jan Didier, Jamie & Rusty Sink, Kari & Matthew Fearrington, Mindy & Shawn Agne, Lindsey Didier, Bradley & Julie Didier, Jeremy & Breghan Lear, and Jordan Lear; step grandchildren, Alex & Michele Dross, Derek & Stacie Bergman, Drew & Kristie Platfoot, Arielle & Jay Heitkamp; and 23 great grandchildren.

Cletus served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Weaver Brothers in Versailles where he was a truck driver.

A private graveside service will be held at Greenville Township Memorial Garden. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Greenville Township Rescue or EverHeart Hospice.
