Glenna Marie (Brubaker) Bower, daughter of Albert and Elsie Brubaker, was born February 13th, 1940 near North Manchester, Indiana. She peacefully passed from this life on November 1st, 2019 at the age of 79 years, 8 months. Glenna was united in marriage with Isaac Benjamin Bower June 15th, 1958. They spent a short time in Camden, Indiana and Covington, Ohio before settling on his family dairy farm near Brookville, Ohio. In 1974, they moved their family to a dairy farm near Hollansburg, Ohio. Then in 1990, they moved into Palestine, Ohio where they spent the remaining years of their lives. Realizing their need for the cleansing blood of Christ, Glenna and Isaac, were baptized on May 22nd, 1960 into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church in which they remained faithful. She had a strong faith in God, which she lived as an example to all, and a deep love and concern for the church. Glenna was preceded in death by her husband, parents, stepmother Vera (Niccum) Brubaker, father-in-law Jesse Bower, mother-in-law Maude (Fisher) Bower/Beckner, stepfather-in-law Josiah Beckner, infant grandson Damon Bower, brother & sister-in-law Gerald & Virginia Sink, and sister-in-law Dorothy Bower. Left to mourn her passing are five children: David Bower & wife Martha, Philip Bower & wife Yvonne, Lowell Bower & wife Joy, Nancy Durham & husband Phil, and Dennis Bower & wife Kim. Siblings Shirley Wray & husband Leroy, Peggy Wise & husband Marvin, Ray Brubaker & wife Marge, and Connie Reece & husband John, and brother-in-law Lester Bower. Mom patiently bore the difficulties of two open-heart surgeries, several stents, and congestive heart failure. We are truly thankful for and appreciate her example of enduring the trials of life with a positive attitude. Funeral services were held on November 4th at the Palestine Meetinghouse by the home brethren. Her earthly body was laid to rest in the Miller Cemetery behind the Meetinghouse. We leave her in the hands of a loving God to await the resurrection of the saints. Arrangements are being handled by Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.
