

Greg was born on February 8, 1966, in Greenville to the late Jesse “Jay” & Marilyn A. (Dean) Kimmel. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Michael R. Manix, and niece, Brittany Kimmel.
Greg is survived by his wife Barbara E. (Manix) Kimmel whom he married December 7, 1996; son & daughter-in-law, Kane A. & Natalie L. Kimmel of Ansonia; sister & brother-in-law, Robyn & Dan Studabaker of Greenville; brother & sister-in-law, Kent & Julie Kimmel of Ansonia; mother-in-law, Margaret Manix of Greenville; in-laws, Mike & Jennifer Manix of Greenville and Erin M. Bleichrodt & Matt Harris of Richmond, Indiana; nephews & nieces, Kyle & Erika Studabaker, Katie & Jordan Lieb, Chad Kimmel, Olivia & Darrin Mumaw, Luke Kimmel & Lydia Wood, Evan Manix, Aiden Manix, and Katelynn Manix; numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Greg was a general construction foreman, owned Circle K Motor Sports, and former owner of the Whistle Stop Bar & Grill in Ansonia. Greg was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Ansonia and a former member of Treaty City Motorcycle Club. From early childhood Greg was fascinated with racing, he raced BMX bikes, dirt bikes, stock cars, and go-karts. Greg enjoyed motor sports, hunting, fishing, softball, and spending time at Eldora Speedway with family and friends. Greg and Barb spent many hours and miles traveling to any sporting events their son Kane and their nephews participated in. Greg was an avid lover of his Great Dane dogs, Bo, Zeek, George, and one fat chocolate lab Buddy Joe.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am Thursday, September 17, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville with Rev. Fr. Matt Feist celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greenville immediately followed by a wake at the Ansonia American Legion Post #353. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ansonia Volunteer Fire Department, Ansonia American Legion Post#353, or Francis Marion Cox memorial Scholarship Fund (contact Chris or Eileen Cox) in Greg’s memory.
