

Jackie “Jack” Harshbarger, age 91, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 9:27 PM at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. Jack was born on September 7, 1934, in Union City, Indiana, the son of the late Lavon and Nora (McClurg) Harshbarger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna (Smiley) Harshbarger; his daughter, Deborah Harshbarger; his infant son, Jackie Jr. and his sister Joan Hoblit.
Jack is survived by his children, Rick and Linda Harshbarger of Greenville and Brenda and Kurtis Long of Greenville; his 8 eight grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren as well as his close niece Wanda and Donnie York.
Jack worked as a truck driver and as a house painter. His hobbies included bowling and golfing. He was a member of The Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 329. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Life was not the same for Jack after losing the love of his life of 52 years, Donna, who passed away on July 6, 2005.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville, Ohio on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 6:00 PM. There will be a Moose Lodge of Sorrows Service. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 PM until the time of the service.
A private graveside service in the Lisbon Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
