Mr. James I. Martin

James (Jim) I Martin, age 83, of Myrtle Beach, SC (formerly of Greenville, OH) passed away on Monday, June 9th. Jim was born August 7, 1941, in Greenville to the late Dick and Thelma (Schaeffer) Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Sam and Tom.

Jim is survived by his wife Roberta (Bobbie) Martin of Myrtle Beach, SC. They were married February 25, 1961. He is also survived by his sister Judith (Ronnie) McBride of Greenville, his daughters Lisa (David) Kettlehake of Dublin, OH; Tammy (John) Suter of Herndon, VA; son Jay Martin of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren Jason Martin, Nicole Diehm, Jordan Loxley, Jenna Greer, Aaron Kettlehake, Ian Kettlehake, Sarah Suter, Anne Martin, Charlie Suter, Tristan Martin, 8 great-grandchildren and a niece and nephew.

Jim was a graduate of Greenville Sr. High School. He was employed as manager of Eikenberry’s IGA in Greenville until he retired to Myrtle Beach in 2003.

A Celebration of Life for Jim will be held at 11:00 AM Friday June 27, 2025, in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Tony Price officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. A private burial will be held in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to the Greenville Rotary Club Scholarship Fund.
