Michael Paul Glass, 51, passed away peacefully at home on July 10, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Despite battling an aggressive cancer for several years, Mike never stopped fighting and loving his family and friends.
Mike grew up in Westerville, Ohio and graduated from Big Walnut High School and Columbus College of Art and Design. Mike was a born artist. Although a very humble and private person, he enjoyed teaching and sharing his incredible artistic talent with others. Over the years, his work was commissioned by a multitude of people, organizations and institutions. As a friend recently shared, “he definitely made the world a more beautiful place”. Even more than his dedication to art, was his dedication to his family. He was a devoted and loving husband and father, always the strongest supporter of his wife and daughter in their athletics and learning.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gary Glass. Those remaining to cherish his memory include: his ‘dear, darling, love’ wife of 25 years, Rachel Glass, beloved daughter, Ava Glass, mother, Marie Glass, and brother, David Glass. He also leaves behind his in-laws: Jean Moores, Tim & Jennifer Abbott, Tim & Rebecca Gibson and Richard & Bridget Moores, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles, whom he loved and cared for dearly.
Mike referred to the beach as his ‘home away from home’ and was truly relaxed and at peace when vacationing with his family and in-laws. Those who knew him well will always remember his humor and great barreling laugh. He loved his campfires/cookouts with family and friends, listening to live music, playing ball with his dog, teaching art classes, walks on the beach at sunrise and cheering for Ava at all her sporting events, breathe deep- feet on the ground’. He lived and loved fully and impacted so many in his short time with us. He will be missed beyond words.
