Those crinkly eyes and crooked smile was all I recognized of the skinny kid I knew growing up in Ft Jeff! He became a man in the 40+ years since we graduated together. Hadn't seen him since then, I don't believe, but sure brought back all those memories! Riding bikes & playing ball at the Township house with all the Simon & Niswonger kids! Mike always helped me gather fruits and vegetables every year to display at the Fair! Running around on that old Allis G tractor! He was always a quiet, kind and very nice young man to me, at a time many were not. Wished I had the chance to see him again. Sounds like he turned into a nice man as well. Carolyn kept me informed at Fram from time to time.
To Mike's wife , family; all the Simon's and Niswonger's as well, you have my sincere, deepest sympathy for your loss. He was taken way too early. Rest well, old Friend...

I was so sad to hear of your loss. Mike was always a bright light, always had a wonderful smile and helped so many people. I hadn’t seen him in several years but he was always in my thoughts and good memories. Bridgette to you and your family, I know this is a sad time, but remember all the laughter he shared with us.

I was so saddened to see Mike's passing. I had worked with Mike in the past at Dettmer.. He never knew a stranger and was always the sweetest. He would come by to see me at UVMC when he was in the area. He had just stopped in maybe a year ago and was sharing with me how he loved to play Santa. I always looked forward to seeing with him and having a great laugh about the "good old days".
I know you have many wonderful memories that will carry you through the times to come. His sweet spirit, kindness and concern for others will certainly be missed. God's Blessing to you! Debi Macy

Mike was an amazing man! He showed me the ropes and taught me how to be tough in my first job out of college! Working with the DSM population and addicts is not for the faint of heart. I Enjoyed working with him and playing softball with him as well. He changed so many lives and was such a genuine loving man! Rest easy and may your memory be eternal! Prayers for you Bridget and family!
