

Nancy was born on January 31, 1931 in Marquette, Michigan to the late Wallace and Catharine Finch. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Philip D. Brumbaugh and son, Philip J. Brumbaugh.
Nancy is survived by 2 children, Charlie Brumbaugh and Mary Cooper, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She delighted in her family.
Nancy graduated from Sexton High School in Lansing, Michigan and then from the University of Michigan in 1952. She later completed 2 Master’s Degrees in Education from Miami University and Wright State University. She also earned a specialist degree in education from Wright State University. Nancy taught in the Greenville City Schools for 38 years.
Nancy was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where she served several terms on the Vestry, taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and chaired a search committee. She served on the board of the Darke County YMCA (and acted as secretary for several years), the board of Darke County Hospice, and the board of the Garst Museum (and later as secretary of the board as well as a docent). Nancy also served on the board of United Way, where she served a term as president and as the first female chair of the annual fundraising campaign. For her alma mater, she served as president of the Regional Michigan Alumni Board. In addition, she served as den mother for a Cub Scout pack. Nancy spent many happy summers at her beloved cottage on Sand Bay in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Nancy’s funeral will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 201 S. Broadway, Greenville, Ohio (on a date yet to be determined).
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in thanksgiving for Nancy F. Brumbaugh may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or the charity of your choice.
