

Patricia Ann Hope, age 89 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 7:50 AM at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. Born in Muncie, Indiana on March 27, 1934 she was a daughter to the late Virgil M. & Hilda A. (Smith) Carpenter. Patricia had worked for Westinghouse /A.O. Smith and after retiring, was a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed going to Bethel Long Wesleyan Church in Longtown, Ohio. Throughout life she enjoyed the Great Darke County Fair, gambling, and was quite the horse race enthusiast. She was a collector of all the yarn, and spent much of her time crocheting. When Patricia wasn’t watching the hummingbirds, you could find her watching John Wayne movies. She loved orchids, and plants, and playing solitaire. More than anything, she loved to spend time with her family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; she was a professional grandma; loved to cook for them and they were her whole world. She will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her husband, James Hope in 2013: stillborn siblings Gloria Jeane and Percy Carpenter: brother Perry Carpenter: great-grandson James Ryan Schlechty.
Survived by her children Faith Hope; Marlenea & Randy Hood; Dawn Hope-Chapman & Dan; Thomas & Terry Hope: grandchildren Jennifer & Craig Schlechty; Ryan & Nicole Hope; Nicole & Matt Fourman; Christopher Hope: great-grandchildren Carl Schlechty; Caleb Schlechty; Caden Schlechty; Adalyn Hope; James Matthew Hope; Payton Fourman; Parker Fourman: sisters Priscilla Flood of Ft. Wayne, IN; Portia Hughes of Richmond, IN: best buddy Donna Clemens: as well as many loved cousins, nieces and nephews, family members and friends.
Friends may call on the family from 12:00- 2:00 PM on Friday, March 1, 2024 at the Bethel Long Wesleyan Church – 255 Stingley Rd, Greenville, Oh 45331-. Celebration of life to start at 2 PM with Pastor Pam Geise presiding. Burial to follow at Bass Cemetery, Darke County, Ohio.
