Robert E Jones

Ed was born November 11, 1932, in Livingston, Kentucky to the late Leonard and Roxie (Arnold) Jones. In addition to her parents, Ed was also preceded in death by his wife, Dixie J. Jones on August 31, 2021, whom he married June 28, 1958, his daughters, Roxane Reed, and Kathy Brewer.

Ed is survived by his children, David Jones ( Carol Wiler) of Arcanum, Robbie & Sherri Jones of Arcanum, Nick & Tammy Jones of Richmond, Indiana and Dianna Hofer of Richmond, Indiana; grandchildren, Ashley & Shaun Scrafford, Kierra & Billy Rogers, Jarrett Jones, Melissa & Brian Laux, Nick Jones, Matthew & Tiffany Hammaker, Lucas Hammaker, Josh Thomas, Charles Brown, Angie Dixon and Amy & Volli Rose; great-grandchildren, Erika, Alexander, Zailynn, Rylee, Jonathan, Meghan, Edmond, Elizabeth, Leah, Colt, Oaklyn, Kruz, Londyn and Payton; siblings, Jerry, Paul, and Carolyn Jones of Livingston, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ed retired from Whirlpool. He was a member of the Darke County Fish and Game Club, enjoyed playing golf and Union City Country Club, bowling, fishing, camping, and playing euchre. He was an avid guitar player and loved Johnny Cash.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Tony Price officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday June 17, 2026, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
