Robert Ferdinand Koesters, age 74 of Ansonia, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at the Brethren’s Retirement Community, Greenville, Ohio. Born on September 8, 1945 in Celina, Ohio he was one of 13 children to the late Alexander & Rita (Roessner) Koesters. Robert was a graduate of St. Henry High School, class of 1964. He then went on to join the Ohio National Guard. He loved to farm, it was his true passion in life. He worked as an automation technician for farm feeding equipment, and built stave silos. He was very proud of his work. He was a member of the Greenville Knights of Columbus, and in his free time, he enjoyed playing horseshoes and going bowling. He will be truly missed. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Irene Koesters: grandson Grant Koesters.

Survived by his wife of 49 years, Bonita L. (Abels) Koesters, whom he married November 14, 1970: children Jill & Travis Beam; Tony & Emily Koesters; Ken Koesters: grandchildren Trevor Beam, Peyton Beam; Wyatt Beam; Mae Koesters; Joseph Koesters: siblings Virginia & Herbert Nieport; Norbert & Mary Lou Koesters; Paul & Jeanne Koesters; Joseph & Vera Koesters; Jane & Donald Prenger; Rose & Gary Thieman; Carl & Cathy Koesters; Teresa & Steve Wacker; Roger & Nancy Koesters; Connie & Dean Fruchey; Marge & Gordon Luedeke: as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Friends may call on the family from 2:00 PM- 5:00 PM on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with a prayer ceremony at 4:45 PM by the Greenville Knights of Columbus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenville, Ohio with Fr. Peter Logsdon presiding. Burial to follow at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Carthegena, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenville Knights of Columbus. Online sympathies www.zecharbailey.com.
