Steve was born on July 20, 1947, in Dayton to the late Edwin & Versie Wilson. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Susan K. Wilson, and a brother, Doug Wilson.
Steve is survived by his sons & daughters-in-law, Justin & Jenny Wilson of Troy and Aaron & Abbi Wilson of Arcanum; grandchildren, Evan, Jacob, Austin, Colton, Nicholas, Ella, and Emma; sister, Donna Wilcock of Dayton; and brother, Phil Wilson of Beavercreek.
Steve was a 1965 graduate of Beavercreek High School. Steve served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Bronze Star Medal. Steve received a BS & MBA from Wright State University in Dayton. Steve was CFO & Director of Administration of LADD Industries in Kettering and previously served as Controller of Columbia Industrial Sales in Dayton and GAPI USA, Incorporated.
Steve ushered at Oakland Church of the Brethren for many years. He was an original organizer of Franklin-Monroe Youth Soccer. In younger years, Steve loved coaching youth baseball, soccer, and basketball. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State University Football. Steve enjoyed several different genres of music and attempted to play his drum set along with the stereo recordings by his favorite artist. Most importantly Steve enjoyed watching his grandchildren play various sporting events.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 10:30 am Friday, October 9, 2026, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Jon Keller officiating and military honors conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. Burial will follow in Newcomer Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 to 6:30 pm and Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the funeral home.
