Vivian May Dumas, 91 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Friday July 16, 2021 at 12:30 AM at the Brethren Retirement Community. Vivian was born June 14, 1930 in Troy, Ohio the daughter of the late Otho and Leona (Butler) Ditmer.
Vivian was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and worked at the V.F.W. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Greenville V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; she was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
Vivian is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Harold Dumas on November 15, 1994 whom she married August 29, 1949; her brother: Eugene Ditmer; her sisters: Norma McMiller, Betty Wetzel, and Frances Ditmer.
Vivian is survived by her children: Marie (Paula Widner) Dumas of Greenville, Catherine (Kenneth) Willis of Troy, James (Carmen) Dumas of Greenville; grandchildren: Matt Brewer, Don (Martha) Widner, Paul (Missy) Widner, Brittany (Michael) Almquist, Stephanie (Richard) Baylis, Stephen ( Leah) Dumas, Elizabeth (Phillip) Howard ; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday July 23, 2021 at 11:30 AM at St, Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Matt Feist Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Everheart Hospice or the Brethren Retirement Community.
