Willie Beaver

Willie was born on March 25, 1936, in Willowdell, Ohio, to the late Frank J. & Isabelle (Hecht) Beaver. Willie is also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Gail Beaver; sister, Betty Sanderson; and brothers, John Beaver, Donald Beaver Stroh, and Jerry Beaver May.

Willie is survived by his wife of 68 years, Eileen (Miltenberger) Beaver whom he married November 2, 1957; children, Dena & Michael Post of Rossburg, Karen & Tim Gade of Greenville, Greg Beaver of Liberty, Indiana, Mark & Kathy Beaver of Bryan, Ohio, and Linda & John Ashworth of Greenville; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Beaver Koogler of Clayton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Willie retired from the Greenville City Fire Department where he served his community for 31 years and 17 years as Fire Chief. He then went to work at the State Fire Marshal’s Office for 11 years. Willie was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Greenville. He was also a member of the Ohio Fire Instructors Association, International Fire Chief’s Association, and Southwest Ohio Fire Chief’s Association. Willie was Past President of the Central Western Ohio Fireman’s Association and Past President of Rotary. He was a former member of the Guernsey 4-H Club and FFA.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, June 8, 2026, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Keith Menter officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends on Monday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
