

She was born in Winchester, Kentucky to the late Alfred Allen and Irene Robinson Brown. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Doyle Brown.
Ada was raised in the Trapp Community of Clark County. After graduating from Clark County High School in 1962, she earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University.
Ada taught in both Kentucky and South Carolina and retired in South Carolina after 25 years as a school librarian. She was a member of Seaside Community Church in Murrells Inlet, SC.
Ada is survived by a brother, Alfred Brown of Winchester, KY; a daughter, Michelle (Jimmy) Morris of Greenville, SC; two stepdaughters, Tina (Scott) Hunter of Detroit, MI and Cindy (Joe) Hayes of Greer, SC; four grandsons, five step-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; along with several extended family members and friends including very special friend, Lee Wade Berry.
Services for Ada will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM. Ada will then be laid to rest in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
