
He was born in Anne Arundel County, Maryland to the late Baron E. DeKalb, Sr. and Carrie Inman DeKalb.
After attending school he entered the U.S. Army and served in WWII.
Upon discharge he met and married Jeannette Crump in Washington D.C. Albert was a salesman of automotive parts and member of the Greenville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. He volunteered at Shriners Hospital for Children where he was known as the “candy man” and was a HAM radio operator. Also, a member of Recovery Lodge of Masons, Scottish Rite, and Hejaz Shrine Temple.
Surviving are his son Baron DeKalb,III (Gloria) of Taylors; daughter Mae D. Good (Dean) of Greenville; grandchildren Todd Good (Jennifer), Brian Good, Michelle Good (Terrell Clark), Baron DeKalb and Jamie Harrison (Lee); great-grandchildren Candace Kistler (Phillip), Christopher Good, Brandie Good, Colton Good, A. J. Quinn and Lily Harrison; brothers Donald DeKalb (Yvonne) and George DeKalb.
In addition to his parents he was preceded by his beloved wife Jeannette Crump DeKalb; brother Baron DeKalb, Jr., and sisters Frances Freeman, Theodora McLeod and Carrie Schott.
Graveside service 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
