Ann Marie was a spirited and loving woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid animal lover—especially of orange cats—she was known for her deep compassion for all creatures. She found peace in her garden and happiness in the sand and sea of North Litchfield Beach, one of her favorite places.
A graduate of Greenville High School, Ann Marie was a devoted Tiger fan who was lovingly “converted” into a Gamecock supporter by her children. Her humor, heart, and loyalty defined her relationships and touched all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved children, Michael Leonard Ledford (Meridith) and Morgan League Ledford, as well as her brother, James “Jim” Morgan League, Jr., and several cherished nieces and nephews.
Ann Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Leonard Ledford, her father James Morgan League, and her mother Betty Ann Fowler League.
A service to celebrate Ann Marie’s life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Greenville Humane Society, a cause close to her heart.
Her final words to her family—“I had fun”—perfectly capture the warmth and laughter she brought into the world.
