Anna Virginia Platte

Born in Deer Creek, IL she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Carrie Kennedy.

Anna was a retired nurse, having worked for 40 years at the hospital of Bob Jones University which was later known as Barge Hospital. She received her Bachelor’s degree in 1971 at the same time as her eldest son and daughter.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her sons; Roger Platte (Phyllis) of Ponta Vedra, FL, Paul Platte (Joy) of Winfield, WV, and David Platte of Greenville, SC. She is also survived by her daughters; Cheryl Cunningham (Butch) of Brunswick, GA and Althea Eaton (Fred) of Pickens, SC as well as a brother Arthur Kennedy (Susie) of Deer Creek, IL, 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 22, 2016 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel followed by entombment at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorials should be directed to Evangelical Mission to the Unreached, 209 Roberts Road, Taylors, SC 29687.
