Aristea Tassiopoulos

Born in Mitilini, Greece on June 24, 1932 to the late Evripides and Stamatia Paleologou and the niece of the late Charlie Efstration. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Nick Tassiopoulos along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She moved to Greenville, SC in 1957 and opened her own alterations business on the second floor of the Catherine Building. In 1968, she married Nick Tassiopoulos and together they opened Never on Sunday Greek Restaurant which they ran until 2014. She was very well known and loved by many people here in Greenville and everywhere she went a stranger became an immediate friend. Aristea was known for her hospitality and in addition to remembering the names and faces of her customers she would almost always remember their favorite dishes, often after just one visit.

Aristea was passionate about being in the kitchen and even after retirement spent many hours in her home cooking for friends and family. If not in the kitchen you would commonly find her in the garden working with her roses.

Services for Aristea will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 406 N. Academy St. Greenville, SC 29601. Visitation begins at 9:30 AM and the funeral at 11:00 AM. A committal service will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park 1 Pine Knoll Dr. Greenville, SC 29609.
