Born in Greenville Fred was the son of the late B. Fred Raines, Sr. and Frances Miriam Ward. He was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church and was an associate of Mackey Mortuary (now Mackey Funerals and Cremations of Century Drive) for over 30 years. He was a kind man who never met a stranger.
Fred is survived by his daughter Lindy R. Zeager (Jeremy); son Chris Raines (Dawn); two sisters Judy Young and Cindy Raines; granddaughter Helen Zeager and special niece, Emma Ducker. Also surviving Fred are his niece, Melanie Robbins and nephew, Jonathan "JJ" Johnson.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Yvonne R. Johnson and Mickey Raines.
A visitation for Fred will be held Monday, April 7, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Taylors First Baptist Church, 200 W. Main St. Taylors, SC 29687 followed by the funeral at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, SC.
