

Lillie “Bitsy” Counts passed away on December 18, 2021 following a brief illness. Bitsy was born February 23, 1941 in Greenville, SC to Eugene Clem Parker and Lillie Butler Parker. She grew up in Columbia SC. She earned her undergraduate degree and Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina.
Bitsy’s passion for the Lord and for people led her on a lifelong journey of building relationships with all of those who she encountered. She thrived on serving and mentoring and serving people in and out of her church. Professionally, Bitsy used her private practice as a marriage and family counselor to minister to those within her community. Privately, she mentored women in her church, was active in women’s bible studies and multiple prayer groups. She was passionate about working with others through World Harvest Missions' Sonship program. Additionally, Bitsy enjoyed serving others in her work with missions, through which she was devoted to those who were actively serving in international and as well as local missions. She also enjoyed building relationships with women in the Middle East as well as serving children through local ministries and vacation bible schools.
Bitsy was an avid walker and hiker. She loved traveling and reading. Her true fondness was for her grandchildren. She loved and cherished them dearly, praying for them constantly and providing a Godly example for living a life well lived.

Visitation will be Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 11:30 to 12:45 followed by the funeral service at 1 pm. Following the service, the family will receive guests at the home from 2:30 until 4:30. The interment will be on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 9 am at Woodlawn Cemetery.
