Bob Richard Janes, 80, of Greenville, SC, passed away July 13, 2016. Born in Crossnore, NC to the late Ted Roosevelt and Dorothy Hurt Janes, Bob was a family man and avid traveler. He was married to Barbara Lea Janes, and he served in the U.S. Navy and worked in the textile industry as an engineer and in real estate for many years. He was a faithful member of Lee Road United Methodist Church, and he loved to travel across the nation with his wife in their RV.
In addition to his wife Barbara, Bob is survived by his daughter, Patti Janes, and his son, Mark Janes (Katrina). He is also survived by his brothers Bruce Janes and Denny Janes; his grandson, Hunter Janes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his son, Michael Janes; his sister, Cora McConnell; and his brother, Danny Janes.
A funeral service will be held at the Chapel at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Monday at 11am with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Woodlawn Funeral Home from 10:00-10:45am.
