Bobbie Miller Fields

Bobbie Miller Fields, 96, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, passed away on August 23, 2026, in Greenville, South Carolina. She was born on December 6, 1929, in Greenwood, Kentucky to Grace Warman and Richard E. Miller.

Mrs. Fields was a laboratory technician and retired from the Y-12 plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Her happiest times were spent with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known for her kind, sweet spirit and never missed an opportunity to express her love to her family and friends.

Bobbie was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband of 73 years, Ted Fields, in February, 2026. She is survived by their son, Richard E. Fields, and his wife, Ginger Cunningham Fields, of Knoxville, Tennessee; and three daughters: Corajane Melton and her husband, Robert W. Melton, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina; Grace-Ann Tannehill and her husband, Bobby Tannehill, of Hendersonville, North Carolina; and Mary Ellen Dover and her husband, James T. Dover, of Simpsonville, South Carolina. In addition, Bobbie is survived by a sister, Uma Clark, of Hixson, Tennessee.

Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren: Benjamin Fields and his wife, Sarah, and their children, Eloise and Lena; Amos Fields and his wife, Tosha, and their son, Malcolm, all of Knoxville, Tennessee; Kelly Melton and her partner, Seth Cross, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina; Teresa Dover and her husband, Matthew Cooper, of Taylors, South Carolina; and Julie Dover of Simpsonville South Carolina. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Bobbie was preceded in death by two sons-in law, Cameron Burgin and James H. Cannon; seven brothers-in-law, O.L. Clark, Troy Fields, Arlie Fields, Dwight Fields, John Collins, Eugene Plock and Fred Files; six sisters-in-law, Holly Collins, Ruth Plock, Verda Fields, Maxine Files, Mildred Fields and Mabel Fields.

Honoring the wishes of Bobbie and Ted, they will be laid to rest in a combined Celebration of Life. Their service will be held graveside at the Garfield Baker Cemetery in Big Creek, KY. The date will be published once available.
