Brenda Vest Hughes,75, passed away December 23rd, 2019, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's.

She was the daughter of the late Paul and Florence Vest. She was the rock her family leaned on, a devoted wife to Warren, and an adored mother and grandmother. She was also the beloved baby sister in her family and was loved by many nieces and nephews. Those who knew her loved her energy, wisdom, strength, compassion, and patience. She loved to smile and laugh, and that was true even as her disease stole everything else.

The family will memorialize her life at a graveside service at 1:00 on January 5th at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive and then celebrate her life with our traditional yellow solo cups at Smiley's Cafe, 111 Augusta Street, 4-6 pm.

Flowers will be received at Woodlawn or donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

I loved my Aunt Brenda. What a beautiful lady, inside and out. As a you g person growing up in the seventies I always admired her. Such a classy lady! Love you and see you in heaven.

I loved my Aunt Brenda a lot, thought of her often and I know she's ok! As my Daddy's (P. Larry Vest Sr.) baby sister he loved her dearly and talked to her most everyday of their lives! She is reunited with him, her brother Marvin and her children Chess and Lil Bill. Best of all her husband, my Uncle Warren! Heaven just gets sweeter everyday! I love you Chad and Jean-Anne! I'm praying for y'all! Love and Hugs, Rhonda ❤️
